Abstract Submission Closes Thursday, May 15
Abstract submission for Neuroscience 2008 closes Thursday, May 15 at 5 p.m. EDT. Visit the call for abstracts to submit an abstract, view submission guidelines, FAQs, and more. Only SfN members can submit abstracts: Prior members can renew membership online.

Gruber and Axelrod Award Deadlines Extended
The application deadline for the Peter and Patricia Gruber International Research Award in Neuroscience has been extended to Monday, May 26. The award honors young scientists involved in science-based international collaboration and includes a $25,000 prize.
SfN is also accepting nominations for the Julius Axelrod Prize, recognizing a scientist with achievements in neuropharmacology and exemplary mentoring efforts. Nomination deadline has been extended to Tuesday, May 27.

Society's Journal Moves to New Manuscript and Tracking System
The Journal of Neuroscience has moved to a new online manuscript submission and tracking system. SfN is working to make this transition as seamless as possible for authors, editors and reviewers. The Journal Web site will direct users submitting manuscripts to follow the “unknown/forgotten password” link – users will then receive an e-mail with login information. For questions, e-mail jn@sfn.org.
SfN Sets Membership Record for 2007
SfN finished the year with record membership growth demonstrating the continued vitality of neuroscience. The 2007 membership total of 38,677 represents a 5.5 percent increase over 2006 and a three percent increase over the previous record set in 2005. [View graph of SfN's membership growth].
