International Neuroscience
2009 International Fellows Poster Session
In recent years, SfN’s membership and chapters participation has become increasingly international, with “regular” (non-student) international membership growing more than twice as fast as regular U.S. membership between 2001 and 2007. Currently, 37 percent of SfN members are non-U.S. residents. SfN not only serves as the main professional society for neuroscientists in the United States, but also as the largest individual membership society for neuroscientists internationally.
SfN is committed to meeting the needs of its international members from all regions of the world, through programming and collaborations with other national and regional organizations. In additional SfN strives to support its international members by facilitating scientific networking, providing opportunities for professional development, promoting public information and general education of neuroscience, and informing legislators and policymakers about neuroscience research and its implications for public policy and funding.
